Focusmate

Are you struggling with focusing long enough to complete an important task? Working alongside another person, called “body doubling,” may be helpful. You can trial this app for free.

Flora

In addition to helpful to-do lists, Flora motivates you to spend less time on social media and gaming on your phone. You can set a time goal in which you want to focus and start by planting a seed. A digital tree will grow and flower but if you leave before the time is up, your tree will die. In app purchases result in real trees being planted in the world.

Focus@Will

Music is scientifically proven to help with focus and completing tasks. Backed by neuroscientists, this app enables you to set a timer for the task you need to complete and select from music types or ambient noise channel (eg. pink noise, machinery, cafe sounds). It then optimizes the flow of music to help you stay focused. Sign up for a free one week trial.

Attention Deficit Disorder Association

This website opens with a free ADHD self-test and provides plenty of resources, facts, webinars, and events. You’ll need to become a member for access to the webinars and courses.

ADDitude

Overseen by WebMD, ADDitude provides symptom checklists and tests, interviews, advice on neurodivergent parenting, and a directory for support such as coaches, academic support, clinics, and even summer camps aimed at children with ADHD. Subscribe to their quarterly magazine!

Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale

This test is frequently used by physicians to help diagnose ADHD in adults. Keep in mind that it is only a part of the screening process but the results of the ASRS is accepted by medical professionals.

Ayoa

If you’re a visually-oriented person and find it helpful to mind map your ideas or tasks, Ayoa is a great app for you. The free version of the app is excellent but you can upgrade to a paid version which includes more customization and options. Their blog is filled with helpful tips for mental health, neurodivergence, and learning disabilities.

Todoist

Todoist was developed to help you stay organized with your lists of to-do’s and appointments. It can be integrated with many of your other apps, such as calendars, email inboxes, time trackers, and notes. You can categorize items on your list and set due dates and reminders. You can even share projects with family or coworkers.

ADHD Medication Assistance Services

ADHD medication expenses can add up, even with private insurance. Luckily, there are a few options out there to help with the expense.

Sweepy

Canada Student Grant for Students with Disabilities

With an official diagnosis of ADHD, post-secondary students in Canada are eligible for a special grant for each year of study.
